Meet Mexico Road Show 2025: CREATURISMO promotes Mexican tourism in San Francisco and Los Angeles

Both cities brought together 182 key buyers of the tourism sector, including tour operators, airlines, wholesale agencies and tourism associations, with the objective of learn first-hand about Mexico's diverse tourist offer, strengthen business alliances and open up new business opportunities.

This initiative is part of a comprehensive tourism promotion strategy in key markets, with a format that included destination presentations, product exhibitions and structured networking sessions, designed to generate high value connections between Mexican exhibitors and key players in outbound tourism.

According to Rodrigo Hurtado, Chief Operating Officer of CREATURISMO:

“We brought together 553 buyers on three tours. The positive response obtained in Chicago, Toronto, Dallas, Houston, San Francisco and Los Angeles confirms the strong interest of the U.S. and Canadian markets to learn more about Mexico as a tourist destination. In San Francisco and Los Angeles — cities with a deep cultural affinity with our country — we seek to consolidate our presence and strengthen ties with strategic allies. Both cities not only promote leisure tourism to Mexico, but they also generate a constant flow of family trips and recurring visits.”

From January to July 2025, Mexico received 8.8 million American tourists by air, with a significant proportion coming from California. La air connectivity from this state it is key: Los Angeles concentrates close to 319 weekly flights to Mexico, while San Francisco provides 132 weekly frequencies, consolidating the West Coast as one of the main air corridors to the country.

Leisure and recreational tourism represents the main travel motivation, followed by visits to family and friends, driven by cultural and migratory ties. In addition, The average spending of these travelers exceeds the national average of American tourists, and the average length of trips varies between five and ten days, with destinations that include beach, city, culture and nature.

The initiative Meet Mexico Road Show 2025 is part of the international promotion strategy towards 50º Tianguis Touristic, to be held in 2026 in Acapulco, Guerrero. The last leg of this tour will take place on November 10 to 14 in New York and Montreal, expanding the scope of this strategic campaign.
